Get Physical/June 17-23, 2012

Models are on the move! This is your place to post where, when, and what time you, your teams, coaches and supporters are getting together to exercise. When posting a comment, please include the date, time, and location of the activity, and anything participants need to bring (i.e., stretch bands, towels, tennis rackets, helmets, etc.) Also, please provide a contact name and number. Schedules can change quickly, so please be sure to post under the correct week…each and every week!

    On behalf of Model Sandy Boucher:

    Water exercise class on Thursdays 5-6:30pm in Pomfret. If interested in rocking to some pumped up music and getting in a good workout come join us! Space limited to 12 as that’s what my pool can comfortably hold. Shoot me an email, we need more ladies-only 3 of us so far! If you want to reach me I can be reached at 860-928-1466.     For any models interested in learning the moves for the Flash Mob – aka Make the Call Dance…we will be practicing @ Day Kimball Hospital on Thursday evening from 5-7pm in the RHF conference rooms. The RHF conference room is in the main hospital @ 320 Pomfret St in Putnam, come in by the lab entrance and join us in the conference rooms. We will try to make room for as many models who wish to join us!

    Saturday Morning Walk – Plainfield High School, 7:30am. Meet at lower parking lot by football field. It is a walking/run path that is paved. Hope to see some FTF sisters!!

    FTF Week 14:

    Dear Family, Friends, Team Members, and FTF Co-Models,

    Fourteen weeks in and I am still a work in progress. Right now I am celebrating that Sharie, my awesome coach has got me running, well jogging lol, for 30 minutes at a time, something I have NEVER done in my life I appreciate, from the bottom of my heart, all your support and positive reinforcement! Okay, so here’s the work out schedule for this week, let me know if you want to join me?

    Monday 06/18
    Running from North Road at 5:30am and Boot Camp at The Studio 114 at 6pm. Cherie, will you be there?

    Tuesday 06/19
    Zumba at 5:30pm at The Studio 114,
    I can’t praise this gym enough, remember the first class is free, drop in’s are welcome (except Thurs. Step Class ) at $8.00 per class. It is one of the most welcoming work out facilities I’ve ever experienced, and all fitness levels are embraced.

    Sharie and I will run at 5pm track at Owen Bell Park in Dayville, then Zumba at 6:30pm at The Studio 114.

    Thurs. 06/21
    I have time for a short walk or something when I get out of work at 5pm

    Friday. 06/22
    Sharie and I are running from North Road at 7am

    Saturday 06/23
    Abs and Weights Class at 8am at The Studio 114.

    Sunday 06/24
    Running with Sharie from North Road, time to be determined.

    Sharie and I will sign up to do the 9:05 Road Race. If you sign up before 07/31/2012 It’s $10.00 less and if there are enough interested maybe we could sign up as a team?

    DKH Give it a TRI Training Series for the August 25 triathlon every Saturday, at Moosup Pond, Moosup Pond Road, Plainfield, CT.

    Bike Route – every Saturday until the TRI. Starts at 9am. 12 miles. Must have helmet. Riding at all paces, several mentors available.

    Walking/Jogging – every Saturday until the TRI. Starts at 10:30am. 3 mile loop. All speeds welcome.

    Swimming – Training in Moosup Pond will begin after July 4th. Start time will be 8am.

    Participants who did the training sessions last year found them to be extremely helpful.

    Wednesdays – 7-8pm – Stretch Band Resistance Exercise – Putnam Farmers Market on the Putnam Rivertrail! Bring a medium-resistance stretch band (green) or buy one there.

    Fitness instructor Amy Williams will hold resistance band classes OUTDOORS every Wednesday night from 7 to 8pm at the Farmers Market Pavilion on the Putnam Rivertrail, just off Kennedy Drive. Only $4 per class with a 5 class minimum commitment (and you don’t have to take the classes consecutively.) To join, contact Amy at 860-455-3048, at mikewithamy@att.net or just show up any Wednesday! What a great sight it will be to see everyone exercising together outdoors on Wednesday evenings! Special thanks to our HealthQuest Northeast CT partner – the Putnam Economic and Development Department for coordinating this effort!
